The 2005 recipient is hard-working, devoted to the association, devoted to family, and has a strong work ethic.
Our 2005 Dale Theis Distinguished Service Award recipient is a freelance court reporter and has two children. She grew up in Iowa, in the town of Jewell. She then graduated from AIB in Des Moines. She began her freelance career with Bob Castle in Sioux City.
From 1981 to 1987 she worked as an official court reporter for Judge Fahrnbruch and Judge Ronin in Lincoln.
Currently she is working as a freelance reporter for both Lehman Reporting and Latimer Reporting in Lincoln.
Kathy's son, Jake, attends college in Milford at SCC. Kathy's daughter, Megan, is attending Iowa State and majoring in veterinary medicine.
Kathy has served this association as Chief Examiner since 1993. She serves in this capacity two times a year, the first Saturday in November and the first Saturday in May.
Marcia Mahon and Kelli Scheffler, partners in this undertaking, lured Kathy to the meeting by informing her that she would be recognized by National for being the Chief Examiner since 1993. Little did she know.
