2004 DALE THEIS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENT
KELLY SCHEFFLER, RPR
OFFICIAL COURT REPORTER
With every strong business, association, group you have strong, devoted participants,
members and leaders. With every successful business, association, group you have
devoted members and leaders who are willing to work and put forth that extra effort to
make it successful.
Our 2004 Dale Theis Distinguished Service Award recipient is such a devoted
member, participant, and leader.
Our 2004 Dale Theis Distinguished Service Award recipient grew up in the
heartland of Nebraska, has a strong work ethic, has given countless hours and has put forth
endless efforts for our association, for the benefit of our members.
Our 2004 Dale Theis Distinguished Service Award recipient is an official court
reporter, she is married with two children.
She grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School. She
attended the Stenotype Institute in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After graduating from there,
she went to work for a short time in Hastings for Bob Knight and then came to Columbus
and started her own freelance business. She worked there until Pat Ernst retired and then
replaced Pat as an official working for Judge Whitehead until he “retired.” After the
“retirement” of her judge in Columbus, she and her family moved to Burwell where she
worked for Judge Olberding. When Kathy Habben decided to move to southeastern
Nebraska (she must like the weather there), our 2004 Dale Theis Distinguished Service
Award recipient started her position with Judge Steinke in 2001.
Kelli is married to Clint Scheffler and they have two sons, Aaron and Ethan.
Kelli has actively served both associations. She has been secretary/treasurer for
NeCRA and has been president-elect and vice president of NOCRA and this year, of
course, will serve as president of NOCRA.
Kelli has always been more than willing to do everything that anyone has asked of
her for her association and for the court reporting profession. She must be a fabulous cook,
because she is the one that put our very own cookbook together - with some fabulous
recipes - which are being sold at a bargain price at this convention.
We believe Kelli Scheffler is very deserving of this honor.
Kelli, thank you for all your hard work on behalf of all of us. You make all of us
look good.
Congratulations!
