Fellow Reporters:
As many of you know the Nebraska Court Reporters Association (NeCRA) annually hires Ruth, Mueller & Robak to lobby on behalf of court reporting issues. The annual fee for lobbying services is $5,000.

Each year the NeCRA membership is asked to pay a $50 assessment for lobbying fees. I am asking each of you who are not members of NeCRA to also pay a $50 assessment to NeCRA for lobbying fees.

As you all know, last year LB 348 was passed and the Supreme Court then increased our bill of exceptions rates to $3.25 per page. Bill Mueller lobbied on behalf of all Nebraska reporters to see that this bill was passed. If you have prepared 100 pages of bills of exceptions under the new rates you will have earned enough to pay the requested lobbying assessment.
